Merry Mornings and Brunching Delights Around Marietta Square
Brunch in Marietta isn’t just about the food — it’s about the whole experience. The slow mornings, the first sip of coffee, the warmth of the sun on your face as you sit on a patio or wander through the Square. It’s those little moments — a quiet chat over eggs benedict or the crunch of a croissant as you people-watch — that make brunch feel more like a ritual than just another meal.
And when you add in a stop at the Marietta Farmers Market? That’s when it feels like you’ve really settled into the weekend.
Here’s a roundup of my favorite brunch spots in Marietta — including a few market finds that just might become part of your new weekend routine.
The Marietta Farmers Market – A Casual Brunch on the Go
You might not think of the Marietta Farmers Market as a brunch spot, but it’s one of my favorite ways to start the weekend. I love grabbing an iced latte from Tuesdays Coffee or Cool Beans and strolling through the market, letting the hum of vendors and the low roar of neighbors chatting set the tone for the day.
It’s the kind of relaxed, small-town moment that makes Marietta feel like home.
I always make a stop at the Strive Foods stand — their nutrient-packed bowls and baked goods are not only healthy but bursting with color and flavor. Their jackfruit tacos and chia puddings are the perfect light breakfast if you’re not in the mood for a big meal. And if you want something sweet, Bernard’s Bakery never disappoints — their pastries, pretzels, and croissants are buttery perfection.
Find a bench at Glover Park, sip your coffee, and enjoy a pastry while you “people watch” or in my case “puppy watch” (there are so many cute dogs!!). It’s the perfect mix of quiet and community — a slow start to whatever the rest of your weekend holds.
The Marietta Local – Comfort Food at Its Best
If you’re in the mood for classic Southern comfort, The Marietta Local is the spot. Their fried chicken biscuits with fluffy eggs are legendary — crispy, golden brown chicken paired with fluffy biscuits and melting butter are so yummy.
It’s the kind of meal that sticks with you (in the best way). Their biscuit sandwiches are another must-try — soft, buttery biscuits stuffed with eggs and cheese. And if you’re a grits fan, the stoned-ground cheese grits with eggs and bacon are exactly the kind of warm, comforting dish that makes you linger long after the last bite.
The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming —also don’t sleep on their Blue Devil Salad.
148 Roswell St NE, Marietta, GA
Gabriel’s Bakery & Café – A Local Staple
At Gabriel’s, the fried green tomato sandwich is a Southern classic — crispy fried green tomatoes layered with red tomatoes, cucumbers, arugula, and red onion, topped with Italian dressing and creamy mayo. For a richer twist, try it on a buttery croissant and pair it with a side of sweet, velvety creamed corn for a comforting touch.
If you’re in the mood for something lighter, the turkey and hummus sandwich is a fresh option. It features sliced turkey breast, house-made hummus, vine-ripe tomatoes, roasted red peppers, arugula, and provolone cheese on your choice of bread. Pair it with a side of crisp green beans or a fresh fruit cup for a balanced meal. And don’t forget dessert — Gabriel’s cakes are legendary and make the perfect sweet finish.
My friend ordered her wedding cake from Gabriel’s so occasionally she and her husband celebrate life with a slice from their special day.

Sugar Cakes Patisserie – A Taste of Paris in Marietta
Nestled in the heart of Marietta Square, Sugar Cakes Patisserie blends French flair with Southern comfort. This charming spot offers a menu full of fresh, seasonal ingredients and handmade pastries. The mushroom and brie soup is a standout — rich and creamy with herb croutons for a perfect bite. The grilled chicken wrap, with crisp lettuce, green apple, and wasabi mayo, offers a fresh and flavorful lunch option. The grilled chicken wrap, packed with crisp lettuce, green apple, and wasabi mayo, is fresh and satisfying. Whether you’re grabbing a pastry to go or sitting down for a laid-back brunch, Sugar Cakes feels like a neighborhood favorite — warm, welcoming, and delicious.
42 Mill St, Marietta, GA
Hamp & Harry’s – Brunch with a Wonderland of Flavors
If brunch for you means a craft cocktail alongside your meal, Hamp & Harry’s is the spot. Their seasonal menu is currently featuring an Alice in Wonderland-themed lineup until April 6th, with creative takes on classics. Try the Traditional French Omelet with boursin, butter, and chives for a rich, creamy experience, or the Carnivore Omelet packed with bacon, sausage, and cheddar. For vegetarians, the Veggie Omelet with mushrooms, onions, arugula, and havarti is a standout.
They also offer a refreshing Winter Citrus Arugula Salad with mandarin oranges, preserved lemon, and champagne vinaigrette, or indulge in their Shrimp & Grits, topped with caramelized shallot and pancetta cream.
45 W Park Square, Marietta, GA
Basecamp at Kennesaw Mountain – Brunch and a Hike
For the more adventurous brunch crowd, Basecamp is the perfect post-hike reward. After a morning on Kennesaw Mountain, head to Basecamp for hearty, fresh options like their breakfast burrito or avocado toast topped with microgreens and balsamic glaze. The rustic vibe and outdoor seating offer a perfect view of the surrounding trails — a peaceful way to transition from an active morning to a relaxed afternoon.
But if you’re like me and crave a feast after all that fresh air and exercise, you can’t go wrong with their Fried Chicken Sandwich. Picture this: a crispy, golden chicken breast stacked with mayo, hot honey mustard, romaine lettuce, tomato, and pickles, all nestled inside a soft brioche bun. Add a side of fries, and you’ve got yourself a meal that’s both satisfying and delicious, whether you’ve been hiking or just working up an appetite!
