Merry & Well in Marietta: Microneedling with Stacie at Spa La Paz
Microneedling with Stacie Dodson at Spa La Paz
Part of the Merry & Well in Marietta series
When it comes to skincare, I’ll admit it — I’ve been overwhelmed. With so many services out there (lasers, peels, collagen this, resurfacing that), I’d often talk myself out of trying anything because I didn’t know what I needed or who I could trust. But now that I’m in my late 30s, I’ve realized it’s time to stop guessing and start building relationships with local experts who really understand skin.
That’s what brought me to Spa La Paz, a full-service medical spa just minutes from the Marietta Square, tucked beside the Marietta Country Club. It’s a beautiful, calm space that feels elevated but still welcoming — and most importantly, not intimidating.
My appointment was with Stacie Dodson, a licensed medical aesthetician with years of experience and the kind of skin that makes you immediately ask, “Okay, what do you use?” She’s funny, warm, and extremely knowledgeable. “My friends call my face the money maker,” she joked — and I believe it because it is truly flawless.

We started with a full skin consultation. Stacie took her time examining my skin and chatting with me about my goals — reducing sun spots and redness, improving texture, and getting ahead of aging with a preventative mindset. After a few minutes she said, “You’ve got great skin integrity.” I laughed and said, “Glad I raised it right.”
She recommended SkinPen Microneedling, a treatment that uses radiofrequency heat and microneedles to stimulate collagen production and trigger your skin’s natural healing process. She applied a medical-grade numbing cream and let it sit for 20 minutes so she could treat my face and chin deeply, comfortably, and effectively.
The treatment itself felt like light pressure with the occasional spark — nothing painful. Afterward, I was definitely red ( think cherry tomato ), but by Day 2 I could wear makeup again, and by Day 3 I could already tell my skin was bouncing back. This was the deepest micro needling I’ve ever done, and the results feel more dramatic than anything I’ve tried before.
What stood out most about Stacie was her approach:
“Consistency is key. Skincare routines don’t have to be complicated — it’s about finding something simple, sustainable, and matched to your lifestyle.”
She also emphasized how important it is to follow up with medical-grade skincare to support the investment you make during in-office treatments. It’s not about a 12-step routine — just the right steps done well.
To keep building on these results, Stacie recommended I return in a couple of weeks for a HydraFacial, which I’ll be doing soon. I’ll update this post with how it goes!
Huge thanks to Stacie Dodson and the team at Spa La Paz for making this such a positive, empowering experience learning about services that fit the goals I have for myself at this stage in life. If you’ve been curious about micro-needling or just want someone you trust to guide you in your skincare journey — check them out.
